Who we're looking for
Client's Performance Analysis and Evaluation Materials group is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role as a Materials Lab Technician in the Performance Analysis and Evaluation group is to support the development of material performances.
Reporting to the Technician Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Performance Analysis and Battery Cell group's departmental objectives to safely and accurately collect and report data, to support vehicle development for North American Customers.
What You'll Be Doing :
Support the Materials Evaluation Group with test setup, fixture fabrication, and standard evaluations.
Build fixtures for part-level evaluations and prepare parts and materials for various testing scenarios.
Instrument components using tools such as accelerometers and other sensors.
Perform 3D laser scanning for dimensional analysis and validation.
Operate tensile test frames for a range of material property evaluations.
Assist with engine dynamometer evaluations and related test activities.
Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized lab environment through 5S practices.
Requirements : What you bring
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in laboratory evaluations.
Minimum of 1 year of experience setting up and configuring test fixtures.
Basic fabrication skills, including working with metal frame fixtures. This includes cutting and welding metal fixtures.
Background in laboratory evaluation of metals, fabrics, or plastics.
Willingness to learn, adhere to, and implement lab safety procedures.
Beginner-level knowledge using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for completing data analysis, graph making, and reporting of data.
