Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant The Dental Assistant will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to the Dental Service at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Dublin GA .

The role involves chairside clinical support for a wide variety of dental procedures, preparation of treatment rooms and instruments, compliance with strict infection control and safety guidelines, and courteous interaction with Veterans, staff, and visitors.

The Dental Assistant will operate under the general supervision of the Chief of Dental Service or designee.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance during general and specialty dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, and surgical treatments.

Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper instrumentation according to the scheduled dental procedure.

Assist with patient care by retracting tissues, suctioning, passing instruments, and anticipating operator needs during procedures.

Take and process digital radiographs with proficiency.

Adhere to all infection control standards and safety protocols in compliance with VA and Carl Vinson VA Medical Center regulations.

Ensure compliance with all VA safety, health, and privacy requirements.

Deliver exceptional customer service by treating patients, staff, volunteers, and visitors with courtesy, tact, and respect.

Support administrative and operational functions of the dental service.

Participate in project support and other assignments that aid staffing needs as directed by the Medical Center.

Qualifications Licensure / Certification :

• No specific licensure required.
• DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification is preferred but not mandatory.
