Security Officer / Driver - Full Time - Evening Shift (2 : 30 pm - 11 : 00 pm)

La Rabida Children's Hospital is hiring a full-time, evening shift, Security Officer / Driver for the Telecommunications, Security, and Transportation department in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary :

The Security Officer / Driver patrols and maintains surveillance of the Hospital, both internally and externally, to ensure the physical safety of our employees and the patients we serve. The Security Officer / Driver additionally services patients, visitors, and staff through verbal interaction and vehicular transportation.

Essential Security Officer / Driver Functions :

• Patrols internal and external building : hallways, secure and open doors, patrol parking areas
• Operates shuttle service to and from the University of Chicago (Hourly shuttles between 7 : 30 am - 5 : 30 pm on weekdays only, excluding holidays)
• Provides special transportation services : patient transports to off-site healthcare facilities, donation pick-up, vehicle maintenance, and various trips as requested
• Acts as communication command station for Security and Transportation Drivers
• Monitors life safety systems
• Maintains presence as primary attendant console during lunch / break
• Views the camera monitor and changes the tape
