Construction Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join American Tower's Construction & Development organization. The team is responsible for the delivery of all new assets and management of capital improvement and structural redevelopment projects across our tower portfolio. Day to day you will generate cost estimates of the material, labor and equipment required to complete new site construction and site modification activities. As a Construction Estimator, you will partner cross-functionally to obtain accurate up-to-date pricing while maintaining awareness of new and emerging industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, shop drawings and engineering narratives and prepare detailed, accurate quality takeoffs and construction cost estimates for new tower development, electrical and HVAC upgrades, and access road upgrades at existing sites.
• Deliver within tight deadlines accurate construction cost estimates for tower upgrades and structural modifications.
• Maintain database of historical pricing estimates and statistics to reconcile estimate v. actual bid costs.
• Seek ways to minimize costs by suggesting alternative design or scope adjustments without compromising safety or quality.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of cost estimates to external customers.
• Approximately 20% of time in the role will be performed outside conventional office environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
