About the Position
Under general supervision of the Survivor Services Director, responsible for the overall supervision and management of the YWCA SHR Victim Advocacy Program and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Recruits, interviews, trains, manages, and evaluates YWCA SHR Victim Advocate staff, volunteers, and interns
- Monitor the performance of Victim Advocates, interns, and volunteers and provide coaching, guidance, and instruction to facilitate continual improvement in client-centered service delivery
- Build a highly capable and engaged workforce by creating a continuous learning-orientated work environment
- Facilitate regularly scheduled Victim Advocacy staff meetings, provide and plan for continuing education opportunities
- Serve as staff back-up according to the weekly rotation schedule
- Maintain communication with Crisis Services Program Director to discuss the management of the department, including department needs, client care, and performance of Victim Advocates, interns, and volunteers
- Compile grant reports and ensure advocacy data integrity
- Maintain client case records within the electronic case management system and any data / grant management software as required by the agency and in accordance with guidelines, policy, and procedure
- Serve as department staff back-up according to the weekly rotation schedule
- Prepare and deliver educational programs to allied professionals, community members, and volunteers
- Serve as a backup to provide advocacy and court accompaniment services during legal proceedings, during law enforcement interviews, at local college campuses, at emergency rooms, at local jails, at magistrate offices, and during forensic exams to primary and secondary victims of interpersonal violence
- Work collaboratively with direct service staff, law enforcement units, Commonwealth Attorney's, and Victim Witness staff to provide trauma-informed comprehensive services to YWCA SHR / Norfolk Family Justice Center clients while maintaining YWCA SHR confidentiality
- Provide crisis intervention counseling, advocacy, information, and referrals to clients
- Attend community coordination meetings as assigned
- Attend staff meetings, volunteer in-service training, and attend related professional activities
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related Human Services field required. Master's Degree preferred.Must have at least two years' of management experience and a minimum of two years' experience working with victims of violence and sexual assault.Other Requirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position provides supervision and direction to the Victim Advocacy Services Program staff, interns, and volunteers. This includes general coaching and mentoring, annual performance reviews, goal creation and tracking, timesheet review, new staff onboarding and 90-day review and training as necessary.

This position offers a salary range of $48,000 - $55,000 that is based on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental insurance, 17 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement and other benefits.
