Summary
The HR Generalist performs a wide range of administrative and strategic HR functions under the direction of the Senior Director of Administration. This role supports recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and training. The HR Generalist serves as a role model in promoting a positive workplace culture and provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Support & Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees, contractors, and vendors
- Explain HR and payroll policies and procedures clearly and accurately
- Support employee relations, including conflict resolution and compliance with company policies
Recruitment & Onboarding
Create and post job descriptions internally and externallyReview applicants and manage applicant tracking systemsSchedule interviews and coordinate hiring logisticsPrepare offer letters and facilitate background checks and drug screensConduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of I-9 verification and benefits enrollmentMaintain new employee files and onboarding documentationBenefits & Compliance
Administer employee benefits and support open enrollment processesEnsure compliance with FMLA, LOA, and short-term disability proceduresMaintain accurate records and support audits as neededTraining & Development
Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, reminders, and rostersSupport training program oversight and documentationAssist in developing and delivering supervisor training materialsSystems & Reporting
Utilize HRIS platforms, specifically iSolvedSupport HR systems implementations and process improvementsGenerate reports and maintain HR metrics for leadership reviewQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field3-10 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-site operationsStrong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practicesProficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsPreferred Attributes
SHRM or PHR certificationExperience supporting both manufacturing and office-based workforcesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
