Faculty Employment Opportunity
Position
Temporary Lecturers in Communication Studies : part‑time teaching appointments. Candidates will teach COMM 2110 – Group Discussion Processes, a designated GE Area 1C, Oral Communication. Teaching must occur in person on the Turlock campus; online asynchronous is not an option.
Responsibilities
Teach the course in person on the Turlock campus; plan and deliver lessons, facilitate discussions, assign and grade assignments, maintain a syllabus, and meet the class schedule.
Qualifications
Minimum : Master’s degree in Communication Studies or closely related field. Evidence of prior successful teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
Preferred : Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Communication Studies or closely related field. Successful and effective college‑level teaching experience.

Compensation
Salary is based on qualifications and experience. Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full‑time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
