Senior Mechanical Engineer

Description

This position is a mechanical engineering position providing design, development, and production release of JE Technology manufactured Solutions products. Senior Mechanical Engineers must complete PDR, CDR and drive projects to completion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and confirm regulatory code basis for each project
• Collaborate with other project team members to comply with project requirements and meet project schedules
• Provide mechanical designs as required while complying with OSHA Requirements
• Provide technical support to external design resources, equipment vendors, and fabricators
• Travel to fabrication shops for meetings, inspections and functional tests, and to customer sites
• Provide direction to fabricators and inspectors with applicable assistance
• Review and approve fabricator and external design drawings, documentation and fabrication sequence
• Lead / facilitate cross-functional meetings as needed to brainstorm creative solutions, troubleshoot problems and ensure projects are on track
• Perform calculations for loads, heat, and fluid mechanics as required
• Provide project scoping input to ensure estimate accuracy and appropriate materials and methods are utilized in an efficient design
• Provide proposal support by reviewing client specifications and requirements and providing expertise in setting strategy for product offerings
• Acting as liaison with client\'s representatives in resolving issues related to drawings and specifications
• Overseeing and making decisions related to contract drawings. Ensuring that all drawings and specifications accurately relate to the estimate
• Managing the project budget
• Assessing conformance to contract specifications. Resolving any conflicts in interpretation
• Negotiating Engineering Change Notices. Managing information on changes in the scope of work; preparing an independent analysis, as required; obtaining and checking estimates for the changes, obtaining approval of the client for changes; and resolving any conflicts
• Evaluating information to ensure compliance with contract documents
