This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, supporting Manufacturing and Supply Chain across all facilities. We are a team committed to safety and excellence, directly impacting space exploration. As part of a small, passionate team, you will machine and fabricate R&D components for spaceflight projects, working independently and in teams to plan, program, set up CNC and manual machines, create or purchase tools, machine and inspect products, and interact with customers to resolve issues. This environment focuses on quick turn, low volume, high complexity machining.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Setting up and operating 2, 3, and 5-axis lathes and mills, EDMs, manual machines, supporting equipmentReading and interpreting engineering drawings, models, and descriptionsMachining new or modifying existing tight-tolerance, high-value parts, balancing speed and qualityEnsuring product quality and conformance to specificationsImplementing and refining manufacturing processesCollaborating with engineering to document and standardize production processesProviding Design for Manufacturability (DfM) feedbackParticipating in solutions to meet design and schedule requirementsProviding excellent customer service within Blue OriginJob planning and execution from start to finish, including machine and material selection, tooling, programming, machining, inspection, and customer communicationAssisting with procurement of supplies, tools, and machineryWorking independently and collaboratively to enable team successSupporting transition from development to productionIdentifying and implementing safety and efficiency improvementsVerifying manufactured hardwareOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications :
Passion for our mission : enabling millions in space!At least 5 years in CNC programming with offline software (e.g., NX, Master Cam)At least 5 years working with multi-axis machinesAt least 5 years working with hardened metalsAt least 5 years in a lead role with skilled workforceAbility to interpret engineering models, drawings, and specificationsExtensive experience with CNC controls (Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens)Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills (ASME Y14.5M-1994)Knowledge of outside processing (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding)Effective work ethic, attention to detail, adaptability in a fast-paced environmentBasic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office)Customer-focused with strong communication skillsAbility to work with diverse teams across distancesContinuous improvement mindsetWillingness to work off-shift, overtime, weekends as neededCuriosity about business processes and optimizationOrganizational and analytical skills for complex projectsAbility to build trust, foster inclusionPreferred Qualifications :
