Part-Time Bilingual Spanish Legal Receptionist and Spanish Interpreter
Come join our team! Rosasco Law Group APC is a boutique law firm in Rocklin specializing in employment law. We are seeking a full-time Bilingual Legal Receptionist and Spanish Interpreter.
Qualified candidates must be highly organized and detail-oriented, have excellent writing skills, work efficiently, be able to work independently while also being a team player, have a positive attitude, and be familiar with legal documents and calendaring. Qualified candidates would need to work in the office during normal business hours. This is not a remote working position.
Part-time - this position is 4-5 hours per day.
Must have a valid Driver's License, insurance, and reliable transportation, as this position requires frequent firm errands.
Qualified candidates must speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish. The job will include translating documents, witness statements, and handbooks. If you are selected for an interview, you will be given a written Spanish test.
Essential skills :
- Manage attorneys' daily / weekly calendars and limitations. Maintain a calendar of meetings, court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and apprise the attorney of responsibilities in advance of commitment. Coordinate conferences, meetings, and appointments for attorneys, paralegals, and clients, including conference room scheduling, meals, and preparation of materials as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of the preparation of court documents, correspondence, and memoranda. Review, edit, and finalize documents and ensure timely service on all parties and filing with the court.
- Review incoming mail and emails for calendaring, court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and meetings. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of court rules, fee schedules, and filing dates for both State and Federal courts. Responsible for reviewing and ensuring proper calendaring of limitations based on incoming / outgoing documents and correspondence.
- Proofread finalized documents, correspondence, and memoranda to ensure accuracy of copy, grammar, punctuation, and syntax before processing.
- Receive, professionally screen, and transmit telephone calls and messages to attorneys, paralegals, clients, and staff.
- Process all new incoming matters to open new files. Create initial electronic file including initial shell pleadings, save incoming materials, check court docket for missing documents, and ensure limitations are calendared correctly.
- Maintain digital files of all case materials. Filing of pleadings and correspondence in chronological order in appropriate files.
- Greet clients, guests, and vendors who come into the office.
- Run firm errands.
- Be responsible for the firm's social media posts and client emails.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel, including data entry.
- Dependability - must be able to show up on time and follow instructions.
We are not seeking law students or those waiting to pass the bar. This is a long-term position.
