Overall Responsibility :
This position leads the company’s strategic sourcing, quality and product management functions. This very hands-on role combines ownership of vendor relationships, competitive sourcing, and product development with day-to-day management, detailed analysis and reporting. The priorities for this position will include strategically ensuring supply and best costs for raw materials and packaging; working closely with operations to optimize inventory and efficiency; overseeing the quality assurance strategy and function; collaborating with sales and QA on product management and development; and improving reporting and information management to senior leadership and operations.
Key Areas of Responsibility :
- Develop and maintain the company sourcing and purchasing strategy including raw materials management, vendor selection and evaluation, contract management, competitive sourcing, and material planning.
- Collaborate with leadership to build and manage inventory strategy to ensure consistent material availability to meet manufacturing demand and to optimize warehouse utilization and inventory turns.
- Develop and maintain analytical tools and reports to effectively manage supply chain performance KPI’s across the company.
- Lead quality assurance strategy; guide and coach the QA Manager to build excellence in food safety practices, maintain BRC A grade certification.
- Steer the product development process, collaborating with QA, sales and marketing to source appropriate ingredients and develop recipes. Serve as a key member of the R&D / product development team.
- Work closely with warehouse and operations to build and maintain efficient PO processing and receiving procedures.
- Oversee purchase order processing and receiving.
- Manage product specifications and vendor requirements.
- Serve as a key member of the operations leadership team.
- Other requirements as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) plus years of increasing responsibility in purchasing consumer goods, preferably food.Strong working knowledge of product management in ERP systems, MRP and purchasing best practices.Strong negotiation skills with business and financial acumen, and successful experience building and running RFPs.Highly skilled in data analysis, manipulation, and presentation, including software skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and lead in a collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.Affinity for food and desire to learn and grow as an expert on spices and seasonings.Grupo Chilero, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer; and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
