Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our preconstruction team. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep industry knowledge, a strong foundation in electrical estimating, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to lead with integrity, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability.
As part of the estimating team, you'll be responsible for developing accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects, while also driving data collection and metric development to improve forecasting and performance tracking. You'll work closely with preconstruction managers, design team, cost consultants, and field teams to ensure our estimates reflect both technical precision and how the estimate compares to historical data.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates based on drawings, specifications, and your industry knowledge.
- Present detailed estimates to internal / external audiences and answer specific questions.
- Collaborate with subcontractors to gather pricing and reconcile estimates.
- Lead efforts in collecting historical cost data and developing project metrics to be shared with internal / external teams.
- Build and maintain dashboards and tools to track estimating accuracy and project outcomes.
- Participate in bid reviews, value analysis, and proposal development.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating or related operational construction roles.Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and industry standards.Effectively communicate to internal / external teams regarding your estimates and collected data.Develop estimates from conceptual or incomplete information using your industry knowledge and available historical data.Analyze existing estimates and change orders, then communicate your findings to internal / external teams.Ability to manage multiple tasks, estimates, and deadlines simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related on-the-job / field experience.Familiarity with NEC codes and regional electrical cost.Data center estimating and / or operations experience is preferred.Depth of understanding for development of indirect and soft costs.Proficiency in Accubid, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Power BI is a plus.Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis, and metric development.What Success Looks Like In This Role
