Position Profile
This position is primarily responsible for creating, maintaining and optimizing CNC Programs (Milling & Turning Centers), Operation / Tool Sheets, Mfg. Routers and tool / fixture designs utilizing best practices to effectively support machine shop operations for Marotta Controls, Inc. Knowledge should include Gibbs or Mastercam, and PRO-E. This will be applied during the design phase of new products, redesign of existing products, equipment set-up activities, cost estimates, facility layout plans, root cause troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent must be dynamic, capable of multi-tasking, and able to oversee various activities to ensure manufacturing engineering activities comply with company requirements (regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). The role requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people internal and external to the organization to successfully support operations and the corporate strategic vision.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- 5 years of related experience in a machine shop manufacturing environment (Aerospace preferred, but not required)
- 2 years of Gibbs and / or Mastercam & PRO-E usage
- High School or (GED) Diploma; Bachelor's degree in Mfg. Engineering or related field preferred
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to analyze, organize, plan, prioritize assignments, multi-task and achieve results through interaction with others
- Math skills required to design tools / fixtures and generate accurate, safe CNC Programs; ability to interpret graphs / data for problem solving and SPC
- Effective verbal / written communication skills for interactions with all levels of personnel
- Ability to secure external resources (subcontracted services) to maintain machine shop equipment
- Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing concepts, training, equipment design, operation and training procedures / policies, application of manufacturing methods, tool / fixture design, material selection, facility layout plans, cost estimates, DFM / GT&D practices, machine shop documentation, root cause investigations, troubleshooting, performance metrics
- Computer literate; proficiency with Gibbs or Mastercam & PRO-E, CAD / CAM
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, blueprints / technical drawings, and use measuring devices to confirm tooling / fixturing geometries and dimensions
- Must be a US Citizen

Abide by safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirementsSupport standardization, First Past Yield, and safe / best industry practices in manufacturing engineering activitiesCreate, maintain and refine manufacturing documentation (Operation Sheets, Routers, Set-up / Tooling sheets, etc.)Assist in securing external resources to maintain machine shop equipment operational for production efficiency and on-time shipmentsGenerate, optimize, validate and maintain CNC programs for milling and turning centers using Gibbs & PRO-E CAD / CAMDesign efficient and safe tools and fixturesGenerate accurate estimates (setup, cycle time, material, etc.) using cost-effective methodsDefine, monitor and communicate performance metrics; take actions to resolve issuesCommunicate issues promptly to internal / external stakeholdersTrain and mentor personnel supporting manufacturing engineering goalsFoster a positive, cooperative and safe work environmentParticipate in team meetings, root cause investigations, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiativesWork Environment

Pay Range
Pay Range : $33.00 - $42.00 / hour + shift differential
Pay range listed elsewhere : $30 - $36 per hour (may vary by source)
