American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float position in an acute care setting, requiring a WA or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Med / Surg Telemetry Float unit within an acute care hospitalCare for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, ETOH withdrawal, kidney issues, dementia, and CVAFloat between all Med / Surg, PCU, ED boarding, and temporary bed locations as neededUnit has 32 beds with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 5 : 1, increasing to 6 : 1 during inpatient boardingNight shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am with every other weekend requiredUses Epic EMR; Epic training providedNurses are responsible for reviewing telemetry stripsDrips managed include heparin, Cardizem, insulin (not DKA protocol), and narcotics (comfort measures)Charge nurse and nurse aides (4-5 per shift) provide support24 / 7 hospitalist, RT, and pharmacy support availableNo vent management requiredProvide close observation through use of camera monitoringProfessional scrubs in any color, pattern, or style permittedHoliday coverage is required based on assignmentUnit-specific orientation providedTeam structure includes charge nurse and nurse aidesTravelers are supported by cross-shift IV / SWAT teamsFirst time travelers will be considered for this positionCandidates cannot have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year\n \n Requirements\n
