A Brief Overview
Prescribes, delegates and coordinates professional nursing care to pediatric patients through the use of the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies / procedures and clinical practice guidelines. Meets job specific standards and demonstrates competency in nursing skills specific to daily assignments identified by Nursing Manager.
Essential Functions
Conducts holistic age-specific patient / family assessments upon visit according to defined standards. Ongoing patient / family assessments / reassessments are completed according to the appropriate protocols and unit standard of care.
Documentation and evaluation of nursing actions
Provider Support
Performs special tasks, procedures within the scope of practice for an RN that is unique to Ambulatory Care clinics i.e. (database entry, scheduling of special procedures, as well as assisting in special procedures, inpatient role, case management, and education / teaching).
Actively engages in Nurse Residency Program through consistent participation in classroom and preceptor learning activities.
Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

Education Qualifications
Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required or
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required
Experience Qualifications
Experience with pediatric patients Preferred and
Previous experience with EPIC Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Excellent skills in communication, listening, customer service, organization.
Excellent clinical skills providing direct and indirect nursing care in an office setting.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
Ability to type, navigate an electronic system, and adapt to changes in workflows as they occur.
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and / or Compact State Licensure Current valid Nebraska RN license / RN compact license Required and
BCLS - Basic Life Support Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association Required and
PEARS - Peds Emergency Assessment Current and valid Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition & Stabilization (PEARS) within 180 Days Required
Must commit to work full time during first year of Nurse Residency Program. Required and
Recommend nurse commits to staying for one additional year of service after completing Nurse Residency Program. Required
