job_description.job_card.job_descriptionSupport carrier and counsel partners by translating fraud analytics and risk reports into actionable litigation strategies. Standardize discovery, subpoena response, and motion drafting workflows to improve consistency and efficiency. Ensure compliance with New York civil court procedures and insurance regulatory frameworks. Maintain adherence to state and federal data privacy laws (HIPAA, NY DFS, GDPR, as applicable). Oversee compliance frameworks related to workers compensation, general liability, and subcontractor insurance . Anticipate and mitigate regulatory and litigation risks associated with data ingestion, analytics, and claims processing. Build and lead the internal legal operations team , emphasizing scalability and cost optimization. Manage outside counsel relationships and vendor partnerships, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring value. Establish and track KPIs to measure legal team effectiveness and report results to internal and external stakeholders.
Our client, a Data Infrastructure and Analytics firm , is revolutionizing risk management and fraud detection within the construction and insurance ecosystem . The company's platform leverages workers compensation, general liability, and motor vehicle accident data combined with open-source intelligence (OSINT) and advanced machine-learning models to help carriers, contractors, and defense counsel identify fraudulent claims, high-risk sites, and claimant networks .
As the firm scales its partnerships with insurers, contractors, and legal teams, it is seeking a Vice President of Legal Operations to lead the buildout of a world-class legal, compliance, and claims infrastructure supporting complex litigation workflows, data partnerships, and enterprise expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Strategy & Operations
- Partner with executive leadership and defense counsel to design and execute the organizations legal operations roadmap .
- Build scalable systems to track claims, depositions, motions, and litigation outcomes across the company's platform.
- Develop and implement playbooks, templates, and workflows for subpoenas, risk scoring, fraud reporting, and motion practice.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management for insurer, subcontractor, and data-provider agreements.
