Summary
The Senior Manager, Foundation and Government Relations, will be responsible for a portfolio of annual funding initiatives that support the Academy Museum's exhibitions, film screenings, education and public engagement programs, digital platform, international initiatives, and more. The portfolio will also include support for collection and preservation projects across the Academy's Margaret Herrick Library, Academy Film Archive, and Academy Museum; Academy Gold talent development program; and other Academy Foundation programs. The Senior Manager will help build a strong, sustainable grants program by completing timely prospect research, competitive grant applications, and meaningful stewardship and engagement opportunities for local, national, and international donors and prospects.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain a portfolio of new and renewing foundation, government, and international agency donors.
- Research, develop, and establish new philanthropic partnerships.
- Collaborate with curatorial, program, operations, and collection staff, while also working independently, to create compelling funding requests.
- Draft proposal narratives, letters of inquiry, and visual work samples, as well as prepare grant applications for submission.
- Sustain an active stewardship program.
- Accurately track and reconcile project budgets.
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements, including required reporting, donor recognition, and correspondence.
- Maintain database entries.
- Support special events as required.

A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or equivalent work experience.3+ years of grant writing or museum, library, archive, or education program experience.A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.Demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills.Have a positive, collaborative, flexible, and strategic nature.Be comfortable working simultaneously across multiple departments.Detail-oriented focus with the ability to succeed in a high-profile, deadline-driven work environment with multiple priorities.Working proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce or similar database; graphic design experience helpful.Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.Required vaccination

Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $85,000.00 - $90,000.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
