A day in the life of a Surety Underwriting Intern might include :

• Captures information from multiple sources, account to company guidelines to support underwriting
• Review individual risks for acceptability and handles those within authority, based on company guidelines and standards.
• Completes assigned Underwriting transactions and tasks within established time and service standard.
• Analysis and review of CPA and company financial statements and schedules. Input of those into the surety system.
• Determines necessary steps to process work. Decides to accept, reject, or modify based on level of authority
• Consults with agents and internal partners. Recommends opportunities for business development and service capabilities
• Enters policies and runs reports for the underwriting file.
• Works cooperatively and builds strong working relationships with territory, field, claims, sales, and other associates to share and gather information necessary to complete work.

About You

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is : $21 - $50
