Shipping Supervisor
The Shipping Supervisor will supervise and coordinate shipping personnel to ensure daily goals are met. This role will oversee and / or coordinate all shipping of outbound materials.
Core functions include : maintaining a safe, clean work environment; supervising and coordinating shipping personnel to ensure daily goals are met; collaborating with other leads and supervisors to facilitate cross-training opportunities; certifying employee knowledge through work instruction audits; coordinating international shipments and preparing proper documentation; processing LTL damage claims and disputes; overseeing and / or coordinating all shipping of outbound materials; ensuring quality standards are followed and corrective action is taken to prevent future errors; gathering and evaluating data related to shipping efficiency to initiate and prioritize improvement activities; conducting department meetings on a daily basis; performing the essential job training functions of the shipping department as needed; serving as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets; actively participating in all aspects of human relations including hiring, orientation, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and scheduling; coordinating with Human Resources; inspiring, motivating, and leading others in utilizing Lean manufacturing tools to deliver results; organizing materials at work station and department according to 6S standards.
Qualifications and requirements include : an associate's degree and two years of supervisory experience; or four or more years of supervisory experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, ERP Software, Carrier Software, and Websites; occasional travel may be required.

Physical requirements include : medium work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 100 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 100 pounds of force constantly to move objects; climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions; close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and / or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes; subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
