Workers Compensation Claims Recovery Senior Specialist

Under moderate supervision, evaluates legal liability and aggressively pursues, negotiates, and resolves subrogation collection. Communicates with insureds, witnesses, attorneys, and underwriters to obtain / provide the necessary information. Works within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. Prepares, reviews, and approves data input into the Loss Accounting System. Handles multi-line and multi-jurisdictional losses.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this position include :
- Interacting effectively with claimants, principals, agents, witnesses, and attorneys to complete investigations and collect assets due to the company.
- Recognizing and responding to business opportunities by finding and implementing new resources and evaluating collection practices for ways to increase efficiencies.
- Reviewing bonds, accounting records, invoices, and other required material during the investigation and recovery effort and notifying appropriate parties of outstanding issues as needed.
- Networking with other teams, maintaining good communication and information sharing, and making the best use of resources available to ensure comprehensive solutions to collections issues.
- Preparing reports outlining investigation findings, analyzing cases, and recommending appropriate courses of action.
- Recommending and / or implementing collection process improvements, integrating new concepts, approaches, and attitudes while remaining focused on goals, and monitoring and controlling expenses incurred on claims and salvage cases.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area.Experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of commercial lines insurance including jurisdictional laws.Preferred Qualifications :
