Responsibilities Work in a float pool covering Pediatric ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Level IV NICU settings Treat critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions Assignments may include 24-bed PICU, 30-bed CTICU, and 60-bed Level IV NICU units Shift is 3x12 hours, rotating variable days and nights including weekend and holiday coverage Float within the hospital and to satellite NICU locations as needed Use Epic for charting with required experience Free parking provided for travelers Provide care for critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients including those with congenital and acquired heart disease and severe respiratory conditions May work with advanced modalities such as ECMO and support heart transplantation cases Team includes experienced critical care staff in a teaching and Magnet-recognized environment Orientation modules are to be completed prior to start, not included in paid orientation Scrub colors are flexible and any color may be worn Travelers are reimbursed for mileage to satellite NICU locations at the IRS standard rate A maximum of 6 days of requested time off is allowed, with at least 3 shifts per week required Must not be a permanent staff member within the past year to be eligible Requirements Active CA RN license required (in hand or proof of application / ETA) Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric critical care nursing in PICU or strong CVICU background with floating experience Current BLS and PALS certifications required Epic charting experience required Flu vaccination required prior to start First-time travelers are accepted Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 holiday shifts including holiday eves On-call availability required Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627769.
