Job Description
Job Title : Instrumentation and Control Co-op
Reports To : Department Manager
Job Summary : Understand basic functions of AutoCAD and / or Revit (2D and 3D), basic drafting skills, and Microsoft Office Applications. Responsible for completing all tasks assigned according to experience and skill level.
Essential Job Functions : The responsibilities include supporting systems operation to meet objectives in industries such as process, manufacturing, or energy. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Perform assigned project tasks with guidance from Engineers, Lead, and Senior Designers.
- Participate in collecting information from field inspections.
- Produce sketches from field inspections.
- Interpret field sketches generated by others.
- Convert design sketches / mark-ups to AutoCAD / Revit format.
- Coordinate project details with Engineers, lead designers, and other discipline leads.
- Read P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Read A&IDs (Airflow and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Utilize BIM and / or ACC applications.
- Perform panel / wireway sizing calculations.
- Prepare instrument lists, IO lists, and instrument piping cutsheets.
- Create panel layouts (control / power) and IO diagrams for control systems.
- Develop instrument layouts and details.
- Assemble drawing and deliverables packages.
- Follow Salas O'Brien and client CAD standards.
- Motivated to grow and contribute to the design team's growth.
- Communicate effectively and multitask across several projects.
Education / Experience Requirements :
Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in EMET, EET, or related fields.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.Valid driver's license required.Preferred : AutoCAD, Plant3D, and / or Revit skills.Working Conditions :
Primarily indoor office environment with local client site visits depending on experience.
Physical and Other Conditions :
Sitting at a desk for extended periods.Working at a computer terminal for long hours.Light lifting (up to 20 lbs).Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately.Exposure to construction sites, mechanical equipment, high places, fumes, airborne particles, weather, electrical hazards, and noisy environments.Additional Details :
