About the Company
Founded in 1950, the University of Massachusetts Foundation is an independent nonprofit and trusted steward of UMass endowments for more than 75 years. Its mission is to foster and promote the growth, progress, and general welfare of the University of Massachusetts by stimulating philanthropic support from alumni, parents, friends, foundations, and others. The Foundation professionally invests, manages, and distributes donor contributions to drive growth and progress at the University. Investment in public higher education is more critical than ever, and a robust endowment is vital to the long-term success of the University. Each year, the endowment distributes millions of dollars for student scholarships, faculty teaching and research, and other vital educational programs and initiatives.
About the Role
The Investment Data Analytics Team Member will join a small, collaborative team within the Foundation's Investment Office and serve as an integral contributor to the management of approximately $2.3 billion in assets across a diversified, multi-asset portfolio that supports the long-term success of the University of Massachusetts. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Data Analytics Team Member will strengthen the Investment Office's data infrastructure and analytical capabilities. The Team Member will assess current data practices, identify gaps, and implement improvements that enhance structure, efficiency, and accessibility. Working with colleagues, the Director will build systems and frameworks that transform raw investment data into usable metrics and insights to inform decisions. The role also includes developing new tools and methodologies for manager evaluation and contributing to initiatives that convert qualitative aspects of the investment process into quantitative, organized insights. Collaboration will be central to the role, including partnering with the investment team on research and portfolio discussions and with the operations team to improve workflows and reporting. This position offers the opportunity to shape the Foundation's approach to investment analytics, contribute to a culture of innovation, and directly support the Investment Office's mission of generating strong, risk-adjusted returns for the University of Massachusetts.
