We are seeking a part-time Freelance Creative Director to lead efforts in developing integrated and innovative content strategies across ecommerce platforms and social media channels.
As a Creative Director, you'll spearhead storytelling initiatives and ensure brand consistency while driving impactful user experiences that align with business goals. This position offers the opportunity to work with one of the world’s most renowned consumer product companies, playing a pivotal role in crafting compelling brand communications and marketing content.
In this role, you'll oversee and guide a multidisciplinary creative team, emphasizing mentorship, creative excellence, and strategic alignment. You'll create campaigns for product detail pages (Above the Fold, Below the Fold, and video assets) and oversee the direction of monthly social media content calendars, reactive content, and other projects. Your expertise will elevate brand engagement across platforms like TikTok and Meta, while also utilizing formats such as static images, GIFs, memes, videos, and user-generated content for consumer brand channels.

Key Responsibilities :
- Provide oversight, coaching, and creative guidance to design teams, ensuring strategic alignment with brand goals and effective execution.
- Lead the development of ecommerce Product Detail Page (PDP) assets, encompassing Above the Fold, Below the Fold, and video content.
- Work collaboratively with a design team to brainstorm and conceptualize innovative ideas for social media campaigns.
- Supervise the execution of monthly social media content calendars, balancing strategic brand alignment with creative innovation.
- Oversee the creation of reactive social media content, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality results across digital platforms like TikTok and Meta.
- Strategically guide the development of visuals, multimedia assets, and user-generated content to drive greater audience engagement.
- Advocate for experimentation with emerging tools, including generative AI (GenAI), to enhance creative ideation, workflow efficiency, and content production.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver measurable creative solutions that meet business objectives.
- Mentor creative talent, ensuring continuous development and fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
Qualifications :
10+ years of experience in creative leadership roles within agencies, corporate branding teams, or consumer-focused marketing environments.A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in storytelling, design, and advertising for digital-first campaigns.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.Expertise in ecommerce content creation and social media formats, including video production, experiential campaigns, and emerging digital trends.Solid understanding of retail, packaging, and consumer product marketing strategies.Familiarity with workflows in CGI, photography, and video production / post-production.Experience presenting creative concepts to executive-level stakeholders and leading strategic pitches.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across varied levels of management.Interest and / or experience leveraging GenAI tools for creative ideation and workflow optimization.Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver clear creative solutions.Experience mentoring creative teams and driving continuous skill enhancement.If you're a Freelance Creative Director in Chicago looking for some part-time work over the next couple of months, reach out with your resume and portfolio to learn more!
