Responsibilities
- Responsible for the engineering ownership, creation and improvement of processes and procedures used by production, overhaul, repair, test, and quality to manufacture machined aerospace components, requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices.
- Pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing plans for the production of aerospace components in accordance with customer drawings, parts lists and specifications. Create CAD models and dimensioned operation sheets in support of this effort.
- Provide troubleshooting support for CNC machinists / operators, special processing technicians (heat treat, polishing / deburring, shot peening, plating), inspectors (dimensional inspection and non-destructive testing), Quality Engineers and Cell Leaders.
- Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
- Review and analyze engineering / inspection data, documents and reports to recommend / implement process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce scrap / rework.
- Design manufacturing / assembly fixtures and special gauging.
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) for specific product including process creation / development and customer support through first article delivery.
- Previous experience with Frozen Planning and manufacturing flight-critical components is a plus.
- Must work safely at all times, participate in safety improvement initiatives, and help identify corrective actions.
- May be assigned tasks not specifically listed within scope to support department objectives and skill development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field; or a special combination of education and experience and / or demonstrated accomplishments.5-10 years' experience in Manufacturing; aerospace preferred.Must be able to read, interpret and apply GD&T methods.Must be able to navigate through detailed customer specifications.Experience with milling, turning, grinding; experience with Siemens NX CAD is a plus (NX 7.5+).Experience with NPI development and implementation.Experience working with various metals including steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong project management skills.Shift : Days
