Day in the life

Start your shift by reviewing the shop order and blueprint, selecting the correct tooling, and setting up an Accurpress, Dener, or Toyokoki press brake. You’ll run first-article parts, verify dimensions with precision gauges, and record results to keep quality documentation current. Throughout the day, you’ll troubleshoot mechanical issues, maintain accurate part counts, tag containers with customer, part number, quantity, and shop order information, and coordinate with your supervisor and teammates to keep production moving. Before clocking out, you’ll leave your area spotless—machine, tooling, and workstation clean, organized, and safe.

What you'll do

• Operate press brakes (Accurpress, Dener, Toyokoki) to form sheet metal per prints and specifications.
• Perform tooling setups and changeovers; remove tooling safely and efficiently.
• Execute machine setups for production runs and verify first-piece quality.
• Use precision measuring tools and gauges to confirm parts meet tolerance; document inspections.
• Maintain part counts; label / tag finished containers with all required identifiers.
• Troubleshoot equipment and mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints and apply shop math to validate bends and dimensions.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate workflow.
• Meet established quality and performance standards on every job.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Keep machines, tooling, and workstations clean and orderly daily.
