Overview
Field Service Representative - Industry / Drives role at Schneider Electric. This is a home-based position with a 40-hour guarantee plus overtime. The role supports installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment in dynamic environments. Schneider Electric provides service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily professional use. The Industry Services team is the OEM for SquareD focusing on variable frequency drives and operation on customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Servicing, installing, and repairing customer equipment.
- Performing warranty work and start-up service.
- Startup / Commissioning on Schneider Variable Frequency Drives.
- Testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting and part component replacement on customer drive products.
- Construction and testing of circuits and equipment using tools such as computers, workstations, circuit diagrams and test instruments.
- Provide technical support in product service, training and on-site audits.
- Support serviceable Schneider equipment including electrical switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, BMS systems, PLCs, HMIs, Drives, power monitoring equipment, and protective relays.
- Document all required information for each site (technical report).
On some days
Analyze complex problems in equipment and machinery and interpret maintenance manuals to isolate and correct faults.Assist in developing design modifications and provide installation support for modifications.Develop and deliver training materials and provide training to customers and other service representatives.Travel for training and to support job-site requirements in other areas.Qualifications
Vocational education, military training, or transferable experience in electronics, electrical theory, or a related discipline.3+ years of relevant mechanical, electrical and / or power distribution service experience; technical proficiency in electronic / electrical component theory.Experience writing reports and presenting information to managers, clients, and customers.Ability to calculate figures and amounts (proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume).Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Experience in testing, maintenance and / or upgrades in VFDs and / or Soft Starts; experience servicing Drives / Soft Starts with startup and repair preferred.OSHA10 and / or OSHA30 certification is a plus; MSHA training (parts 46 and 48) a plus.Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical service documents and drawings.Ability to move service equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.What we offer
Within your first 90 days, you'll have 2 weeks of in-person training in Dallas, TX at a state-of-the-art facility with all expenses paid. After on-site training, you'll continue with online training and be paired with a local mentor for on-the-job onboarding.
