Are you an experienced Lighting Artist with a passion for atmosphere, mood, and visual storytelling in real-time games?
A leading independent game studio is looking for a Lighting Artist to help shape the look and feel of a high-profile, next-generation First Person Shooter developed in Unreal Engine 5.
What you'll be doing :
- Taking ownership of lighting across environments and cinematics
- Designing and implementing lighting setups that balance realism, performance, and emotional impact
- Collaborating with Art, Design, Programming, and Production teams to align visual goals
- Working within performance budgets while delivering high visual quality
- Using Unreal Engine 5 lighting tools including Lumen, Ray Tracing, and Global Illumination
- Debugging and resolving rendering issues alongside Tech Art and Engineering
- Contributing to documentation, best practices, and lighting pipeline improvements
What we're looking for :
A strong real-time portfolio demonstrating high-quality lighting in AAA or comparable game projectsAt least 3 years of professional game development experience in a lighting-focused roleProficiency with Unreal Engine 4 or 5, especially in Lumen, Ray Tracing, and Volumetric LightingA strong grasp of colour theory, cinematic lighting, and real-time light physicsFamiliarity with HDR workflows, LUTs, exposure settings, and tone mappingExperience storytelling through light to create immersive and emotional environmentsWorking knowledge of Blueprints, Material Editor, and post-processing in UnrealExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsA portfolio that clearly outlines your individual contribution to lighting workIf you're ready to elevate your lighting craft on a globally anticipated title, this role offers an exciting mix of creativity, impact, and opportunity.
