Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols Bike in Washington, DC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and / or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing training and protocols appropriate for armed patrol posts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned government location, including both interior and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor for unusual or suspicious behavior and report observations according to established protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate with team members and site management regarding any security-related concerns or incidents.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and / or contractors with access and general inquiries while upholding site-specific requirements.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain all required certifications for armed patrol assignments at government locations.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and / or baton is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
