Overview

The System Administrator ensures the stable operation of computer networks and infrastructure. This role involves planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network hardware, servers, desktops / laptops, software, and communication links. The individual will analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software issues promptly and accurately, providing end-user training as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of infrastructure systems, including virtualized servers, LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, cloud-based productivity suites, and more.
• Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
• Research network products, services, protocols, and standards to support procurement and development efforts.
• Manage servers, including email, print, and backup servers, along with their associated operating systems and software.
• Administer security solutions, including firewalls, next-generation antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Manage network hardware and equipment, such as routers, switches, and UPSs.
• Collaborate with help desk technicians to implement and perform problem management.
• Work with managed service providers to ensure proper monitoring and escalation of issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
