Position Summary
Hiring & Staffing Manager – Lead all facets of recruiting and managing part-time staff and volunteers for Volo sports leagues and events. This role is hands-on, strategic, and oriented to building a vibrant staff community.
Responsibilities
Lead recruitment effort for part-time hosts & refsRecruit, hire, onboard, schedule, train and evaluate excellent part-time talent to run our leagues and eventsManage the development and presentation of staff and volunteer trainingLead initiatives for engagement and support—pre-season training, mid-season check-ins, and end-of-season celebrationsOversee staff & volunteer feedback review & analysisGrow the staff & volunteer community and culture through special perks and eventsCreate recruitment pipeline for part-time staffSchedule league & event staff—including hosts and refs for adult and kids programsUpdate scheduling software to reflect completion of shifts & support payroll as neededSupport the local payroll process as neededTrack & evaluate performance of part-time staffQualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in recruiting or event managementAbility to work nights and weekendsCan marshal resources effectively and comfortablyExperience in sport or event management and / or business development capacityCan navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervisionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active sporting environmentEqual Employment Opportunity
