Software License Manager

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Software License Manager to manage the lifecycle of all subscription-based software. This position will be located at Hill Air Force Base, UT and will be remote.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the acquisition, management, and compliance of software licenses within the program. Ensure software usage adheres to licensing agreements and legal requirements, optimize costs, and mitigate risks associated with software licensing.
• Track licenses, manage renewals, conduct audits, and optimize software usage to reduce costs.
• Act as a liaison between the organization, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant software deployment.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for software vendors; build and maintain positive relationships, address vendor inquiries, and advocate for the organization during contract negotiations.
• Cultivate vendor relationships to leverage opportunities for discounts, incentives, and favorable licensing terms.
• Manage the full lifecycle of software licenses across the enterprise, including license discovery, entitlement tracking, renewal coordination, audit readiness, and compliance enforcement.
• Collaborate with procurement teams, vendors, and cybersecurity stakeholders to optimize licensing usage while maintaining full DoD compliance.
• Procure software licenses, negotiate contracts, and ensure the organization has the necessary licenses to support its operations.
• Assess software needs of departments, evaluate licensing options, and make informed decisions aligned with budget and goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree with 5–8 years of related experience (or commensurate experience).
