Responsibilities Work in a busy Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department with 65 private beds and 2 trauma bays Serve a diverse patient population from newborns to elderly with a wide range of medical emergencies and trauma cases Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3-5 depending on acuity and department needs Utilizes EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience preferred 12-hour day shifts (7am-7pm), scheduled for three shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays No on-call is required for travelers Float assignments are rare but may occur as 'help all' support in other units Specialized drips including vasopressors, cardiac, and antihypertensive medications are frequently administered Uses Phillips monitors; orientation will be provided Responsibilities include patient assessment, administering medications and drips, responding to diverse emergencies, and collaborating with the trauma team Support structure includes charge nurses, ED techs, monitor techs, and respiratory therapists Orientation consists of 12 hours prior to full assignment No specific scrub color, but scrubs must be tasteful with solid colored undershirts Holiday and weekend coverage required on a rotational basis Radiology and transport staff are responsible for patient transports for X-ray / CT No COVID-19 vaccination requirement for this assignment Local candidates within 50 miles are eligible at local rates Requirements Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department nursing experience BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS certifications required and must be current Proficiency in titrating critical care drips, identifying life threatening rhythms, and providing care for critically ill patients Experience in a teaching hospital with resident physicians preferred Prior travel assignment experience preferred SANE RN experience is preferred but not required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617428.
