Cost Accountant
We are a largely privately-owned company in the consumer products industry. We have our products at stores nationwide and growing! We are looking to add an on-site Cost Accountant to our team, who will report to the CFO and Controller out of our South Holland, IL office.
Key Reponsibilities
- Create variance cost analysis to support initiatives, identify trends, risks, and areas of improvement
- Manage and maintain standard cost system
- Create KPIs, analyze product margins and costs, and implement cost management systems
- Monitor item master for cost fluctuations resulting from implemented bill of materials (BOMs) updates
- Analyze and extract data to predict variances, metrics, and assess business operations - cost variance, price variance, labor analysis, material variance, and more
- Maintain standard costs, manage inventory valuation, review work-in-process (WIP) and resolve any discrepancies
- Create forecasts, budgets, financial reports for internal teams
- Review cycle count adjustments and any discrepancies, by verifying and analyzing account information ensuring inventory discrepancies are addressed and updated in the system
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field3-5+ years of professional cost accounting experienceUnderstanding of standard cost system, inventory valuation, product costing, tracking production costs, budgets, forecasts, physical inventory counts, and moreExcellent written and verbal communication skillsOutstanding analytical, organizational and project management skillsExperience with ensuring accuracy and compliance of account entries, inventory management, handling discrepancies, reconciliations, financial documents, and moreProficient in Excel or financial software (Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or similar)Nice to Have :
