- And much more!\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe Senior Behavioral Health Unit (SBHU) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center champions a culture of teamwork and communication, delivering specialized care to critically ill patients. This 18-bed unit ensures that patients receive the best medical attention and support.\n\nAs an RN in the Senior Behavioral Health Unit, you will : \n
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process aligned with professional standards.\n
- Implement plans of care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.\n
- Document patient care effectively.\n
- Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.\n
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care, including transfers, discharges, and psychosocial support.\n
- Evaluate patient and family learning needs and provide tailored education.\n
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.\n
- Conduct physical and mental health assessments.\n
- Report behavioral changes and help patients enhance their coping skills.\n
- Work with families to support their loved ones in dealing with mental health challenges.\n\nEssential Skills Required : \n

- Associate's degree required\n
- Bachelor's degree preferred\n\nCertifications : \n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.\n
- Handle With Care (HWC) certification within 45 days of hire.\n\nLicenses : \n
- Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Kentucky.\n
