This is a critical role where you will apply your technical expertise in both process and equipment management, providing hands-on leadership to ensure operational reliability, efficiency, and excellence.
Key Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience with a proven ability to manage teams, enhance equipment performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership : Capable of leading diverse teams, including technical and non-technical staff, contractors, and operational personnel.
Industry Expertise : Strong background in manufacturing environments, particularly with experience in improving operational efficiencies in complex systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Development
Oversee all aspects of safety, quality, and operational efficiency for your designated shift.
Facilitate daily maintenance meetings, ensuring clear execution plans and effective follow-through.
Recruit, train, and mentor mechanics and technicians, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
Manage labor relations with union personnel, addressing and resolving conflicts as necessary.
Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in workshop and tooling management.
Provide training and tools to develop employees skills, supporting a continuous improvement environment.
Maintenance Excellence
Lead efforts to improve Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), making quick, effective decisions to minimize downtime.
Supervise the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring full alignment with production goals.
Ensure timely updates of maintenance plans in SAP, and work to resolve any safety- or quality-related issues.
Support root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
Operational Optimization
Focus on cost-effective maintenance and reliability strategies, incorporating lean manufacturing principles where applicable.
Deliver technical training and mentoring to associates, optimizing performance in a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment.
Lead initiatives to refine equipment reliability and performance monitoring.
Enforce stringent safety protocols, ensuring all employees are trained in compliance with regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications :
Supervisory Experience : A minimum of 3 years directly supervising engineering, maintenance, or production staff in a manufacturing setting.
Union Experience : Proven ability to work effectively with unionized employees.
Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Industry Expertise : 10-15 years of manufacturing plant experience preferred, particularly in the food and beverage industry.
Technical Skills : Extensive experience managing teams of machine technicians, electricians, and engineers.
