Job Summary :
Americo is looking to add a GAAP Financial Reporting Analyst to the team. The GAAP Financial Reporting Analyst will execute procedural and analytical functions of Financial Reporting such as : preparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, financial statements on a GAAP and / or STAT basis, and managerial reporting documents. Perform analytical review of financial statements and explain results to management.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare financial statements on a Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT) basis. This includes preparing journal entries and verifying financial statements to supporting documentation.Perform analytical review of financial statements for variances between periods and to expected results. Investigate changes in the general ledger and verify with other teams within the Corporate Finance Department.Prepare GAAP and / or STAT financial statements and supplemental information for filings with state insurance departments and territories, rating agencies, and other external recipients.Utilize general ledger systems, research issues via queries, and perform general ledger reconciliations.Prepare and analyze managerial reporting documents.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Understanding of GAAP accounting principles, familiarity with STAT accounting principles, and reporting requirements under each as it applies to life insurance entitiesExperience with general ledger systems and the ability to research issues via system queriesStrong financial analytical skillsStrong Excel skillsBasic understanding of life insurance concepts preferredExperience with data analytics (Microsoft Access, Power BI) a plusEducation :
