job_description.job_card.job_descriptionProvide technical oversight for field and shop projects, including drawings and specifications. Manage aftermarket parts, component forecasting, and outage planning (PLEO). Assist with maintenance planning for mining equipment. Support continuous process improvement initiatives. Lead process improvement discussions with teams. High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or equivalent experience preferred. At least 5 years' experience in a mining equipment company. Proficiency in business math, analytical and negotiation skills. Valid driver's license. Strong communication and human relations skills. Technical and electrical knowledge of mining equipment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer skills : Excel, Word, Outlook. Basic selling skills and territory management. Organizational and self-motivation skills. Company forms, product literature, personal computer, mobile phone, company vehicle, files. Work at company facilities, customer sites, and in the field. Long working hours; ability to lift 50 pounds and carry heavy items. Use personal protective equipment as required.
Position Overview
Demonstrates leadership, integrity, teamwork, quality, and urgency to achieve customer satisfaction, market dominance, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular calls (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and respond to 24 / 7 emergency customer calls.
- Participate in quoting parts and service, owning the quote process, presentation, and follow-up.
- Travel overnight during the week as required.
- Monitor and direct customer parts & service delivery, cost reduction, lead-time, and quality improvement projects.
- Facilitate component management and service exchange programs with parts personnel.
- Expand aftermarket product offerings such as Wire Rope, G.E.T., etc.
- Advise machine owners on operating costs for Caterpillar and non-OEM equipment.
- Inspect machines and provide evaluations.
- Coordinate with CAT mining support on warranty and goodwill issues.
- Adhere to standards related to quality, safety, cost, and ergonomics.
