See a comprehensive list of benefits here.\n\nDETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION\n\nDelivers high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an ambulatory environment in accordance with clinical protocols and organizational standards.\n\nAssesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.\n\nAssesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report or symptoms of pain promptly. Utilizes an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment, including the 0–10 numerical scale, FACES, or FLACC.\n\nDemonstrates an understanding of medication actions and side effects. Reports pertinent information to the appropriate individual and educates patients and significant others about their medications.\n\nDemonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.\n\nMaintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and department.\n\nReports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person, such as physicians or nursing supervisor, and records those observations accurately and concisely.\n\nServes as a clinical resource and point of contact for staff during assigned shifts, addressing care coordination and workflow issues in real time.\n\nCollaborates with providers and multidisciplinary team members to ensure efficient clinic operations and optimal patient outcomes.\n\nFacilitates communication among staff and leadership regarding clinical concerns, patient care issues, and resource needs.\n\nSupports the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and evidence-based practices within the ambulatory setting.\n\nParticipates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.\n\nParticipates in staff mentoring, onboarding, and continuous education activities as appropriate.\n\nMay complete unit / department-specific duties as outlined in departmental documents.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\n\nDemonstrates knowledge of unit workflows, policies, and procedures to manage daily operations, maintain standards, and support quality improvement.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nMissouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.\n\nOne (1) year nursing experience.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nAdditional license / certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.\n\nThis role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
