Residential Counselor II
Location : Chicopee, MA
Job Summary
We're looking for a Residential Counselor II for our DMH Program to maintain a therapeutic environment within the residence, which includes meeting the needs of the client in safety, medical, emotional, food, clothing, and shelter. The role involves developing reasonable limits, implementing consistent structure daily in residence and community, and supporting a therapeutic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strengths-based, family-driven, youth-guided, culturally relevant services to youth and families.
- Implement each youth's Individual Treatment Plan objectives under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and Direct Care Supervisor.
- Accurately complete all required documentation and serve as a "Staff Advocate" for one youth.
- Work cooperatively as a team member and model positive youth behavior.
- Assist youth in daily tasks—cleaning, cooking, maintenance, and laundry.
- Plan and organize recreational and social activities appropriate for youth.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Program Director or Program Supervisor.
- Meet all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and participate in all departmental trainings.
Minimum Qualifications
Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to handle conflict appropriately.Reliable attendance and MAP certification within 6 months of hire.Preferred previous work with youth and a valid MA license.Valid vehicle available to transport youth or provide supportive services.Team-player attitude and professional, effective communication.Benefits
