We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team in Miami, Florida, on a contract basis that can become permanent for the right person. This role requires a strong background in Bodily Injury cases and civil litigation, as well as proficiency in managing legal documentation and schedules. As part of our dynamic legal team, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and effective case management.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Handle electronic filings with court systems and ensure timely submission of required documents.
- Manage and maintain calendars, including scheduling depositions, appointments, and court hearings.
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and scheduling.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Assist with personal injury case management, specifically Bodily Injury claims.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court and procedural requirements.
- Conduct research and compile information to support case preparation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally with a focus on Bodily Injury and Personal Injury.
- Proficiency in electronic filing systems and court procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and deadlines.
- Familiarity with personal injury law and case management practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to draft and prepare legal documents with attention to detail.
- Experience with scheduling depositions and appointments.
- Proficient in using calendaring tools and legal software
