Senior Life Safety Systems Designer

Overview

Senior Life Safety Systems Designer at Jacobs. This hybrid role is based in Austin, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, Pittsburgh, PA, or Albany, NY. The designer will create and coordinate complex life safety and security system designs for advanced facilities such as semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, and high-tech research sites, using tools such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP. They will work collaboratively with architects and engineers and help deliver integrated fire alarm, gas detection, access control, and security system solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce detailed drawings, models, and layout plans for fire alarm, voice evacuation, gas detection, VESDA, access control, and CCTV systems.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams to incorporate life safety systems into overall facility designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create 3-D BIM models and support the development of system layouts.
• Assist in the selection and specification of manufacturer equipment to meet NFPA, IBC, and other code requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and ensure compliance with life safety codes and industry standards.

Compensation

Base pay range : $85,200.00  /  yr – $133,000.00  /  yr, plus according to location and additional factors. The role is paid hourly based on hours worked.
