About The Role
Players Health is seeking a Newsroom & Community Manager to lead our public relations and owned social media efforts, helping shape and amplify the voice of our brand. Reporting to the Head of Integrated Marketing, this role will manage our external PR agency relationship, create social and content strategy and oversee day-to-day social media channels, and serve as the newsroom lead telling stories that build awareness, credibility, and community.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in PR, communications, and / or social media, with a strong background in media relations, content strategy, and community engagement. This role requires excellent writing and storytelling skills, strong relationship management, and the ability to collaborate closely with digital, brand, and activation teammates to deliver integrated campaigns.
As part of a remote-first, distributed workforce, this position offers flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity near our employee hubs (Minneapolis, MN) Travel may be required for partner activations, events, and team collaboration. The Newsroom and Community Manager role has a compensation range of $75,000 - $90,000, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities (are inclusive of but not limited to) :
Lead public relations efforts by managing the relationship with external PR agencies and driving media outreach to secure coverage that builds brand awareness and credibility.Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across owned channels, aligning with brand voice and marketing objectives.Serve as the internal newsroom lead, identifying and crafting compelling stories that highlight the brand, partners, and community impact.Create and manage a content calendar that supports integrated marketing campaigns, product launches, and thought leadership initiatives.Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to optimize engagement and reach.Actively engage with online communities, responding to comments, fostering dialogue, and building relationships with followers and advocates.Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging platforms to inform strategy and innovation.Support event and partner activations through content creation, live coverage, and post-event storytelling.Ensure all communications reflect Players Healths mission, values, and tone, maintaining brand consistency across all touch points.Other duties as assignedOccasional travel for team engagement, collaboration, or eventsMinimum Skills & Qualifications :
5+ years of professional experience in public relations, communications, and / or social media management.Proven success in media relations, including pitching stories and securing coverage across national and local outlets.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute content and social media strategies that drive engagement and brand awareness.Strong storytelling and writing skills, with experience crafting compelling narratives across multiple formats and channels.Experience managing external PR agencies or vendor relationships.Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X / Twitter, Facebook) and tools.Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong emotional intelligence skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Desired Characteristics :
Although not required, a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related fieldSelf-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, quickly changing environmentDemonstrated experience and / or ability to influence without authorityDemonstrated ability to build connections and rapport cross-departmentallyParticipant / involvement in or strong understanding of the youth / amateur sports landscape.Additional Requirements :
