NICU RN Job Details Location : Lubbock, Texas 79410 Facility : Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 - End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07 : 00 - 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1950-$2090 Unit : NICU (43 beds, average daily census ~35) Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-4 Scrub Color : Navy Parking : Free in any unrestricted space; bike racks available NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Compact nursing license accepted (must be in hand at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience required BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Ability to float to PICU and pediatric units as needed Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years Willingness to work 3 of the 5 major holidays during the contract At least 1 year of overall RN experience required NICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, family-centered neonatal care for infants with conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and post-surgical needs (excluding cardiac surgery) Administer blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, antivirals, and other critical medications Perform APGAR scoring, arterial line management, blood glucose monitoring, and developmental care Support breastfeeding mothers and ensure safe handling of breast milk Manage central lines, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, and advanced respiratory support equipment Care for neonates 29 weeks and older in Level II, III, and IV NICU settings Educate patients and families, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Float to PICU or pediatric units as required Ready to take the next step in your NICU nursing career?
