OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy practice, with experience in various settings including acute care and long-term care (LTC) environments. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal patient care through medication management, patient assessments, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring safe and effective medication use.
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate medication therapy and health outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized medication plans.
- Manage inventory effectively, ensuring the availability of medications and supplies.
- Compound medications as required, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Administer immunizations and provide patient education on medication use and health management.
- Utilize pharmacy software, EMR systems, and EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient management.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in pain management strategies and provide critical care support as needed.
- Stay current with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and advancements in pharmacy practice.
- Skills
- Experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is preferred.
- Critical care experience is highly desirable.
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program is a plus.
- Strong clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on patient service and care.
- Proficient in medication administration techniques including IV insertion and IV infusion practices.
- Knowledge of compounding medications following established guidelines.
- Familiarity with medical management protocols for various patient populations including pediatrics.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills for effective inventory management and workflow optimization.

Cert : BLS
License- Mass
- Ability to mix compounds REQUIRED
- Doctoral of Pharmacy (Pharm D) required
- Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is STRONGLY preferred.
- Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Certification is required is STRONGLY preferred
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision within established policy.
- Applicant must be capable of supervising the work of support personnel.
