Title : Project Engineer

Location : Columbus, IN

Interview process : 2 interviews (1st round virtual, 2nd round onsite panel)

Duration : 1 year contract to hire

Must haves :

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical / Industrial / Electrical / Materials / Chemical) OR associate degree in a technical field with applicable experience
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; doing process improvement, floor layout changes, designing, working on, planning, and implementing multimillion dollar capital projects to help automate the production floor
• Ability to design fixtures and tooling using Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Catia
• Experience with industrial assembly processes and methods : Controlled tightening tools, Automated conveyors and fail-safe devices, New process development, Product safeguarding through robust poka-yoke implementation, Automated guided vehicles
• Strong technical experience with troubleshooting capability and willingness to work hands-on

Responsibilities :

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to support one of our largest material handling logistics clients in Columbus, Indiana. This individual will serve as the project lead for production process optimization and automation initiatives, driving efficiency across operations. The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, procuring, and integrating large-scale capital projects, developing strategies from concept through execution. This role requires close cross-functional collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-impact solutions.
