General Position Summary : The Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth schools’ faculty perseveres to educate and to form students and their families in the Catholic intellectual and moral tradition anchored by faith and right reason. It is in this endeavor that students and their families come to know and to love the true, the beautiful, and the good of God’s created order as known through reason and revealed fully in Jesus Christ.
The Catholic School teacher fulfills this mission by modeling for their students a sense of wonder and love of learning, by inspiring them toward intellectual and moral excellence, and engaging them in the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
Principal Accountabilities :
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to the Gospel by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and all policies of the Diocese and Schools
- Plans for instruction with logically sequenced objectives, based on adopted curriculum and submitted according to the local school policy
- Provides appropriate materials and resources for students to engage in learning
- Uses effective Classical instructional methods / models
- Uses varied formative and summative assessments
- Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy
- Forms students in Virtue through positive classroom management, consistent procedures, and just discipline.
- Proactively communicates with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns
- Meets staff development guidelines as wet forth by the Diocese and School administration
- Exemplifies Professionalism and Virtue
- Follows an established work schedule ensuring availability, as needed, to the school, students and staff
- Responsible for all other projects, tasks, committees, etc. as assigned

Minimal travel, as needed by automobile or bus, may be required throughout the school year for school sponsored activities.Education and Experience Preferred :
Bachelor’s degree or related experienceMeets the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCBEDKnowledge and Skills Preferred :
Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic ChurchKnowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods / strategies, and curriculum differentiation in target languagesKnowledge of child development, learning, and behaviorAble to manage student behavior in classroom and school settingAble to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form in both language(s)Able to work well with others in the school communitySkill in handling multiple tasks simultaneouslySkill in pacing and differentiating instruction -Skill in motivating and engaging students in the learning processSkill in organizing and relating information in an understandable formatSkill in job appropriate technologySkill in critical thinking and planningFLSA Designation : Non-Exempt
