Description

Responsible for decontamination, assembly of all instrument sets and trays and packs throughout the facility. Responsible for the distribution of all supplies and equipment throughout the facility. Ensures patient safety by strictly adhering to aseptic technique. Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate resources to all internal / external customers. Must speak and read English sufficiently to perform essential functions. Knowledge of standard office equipment and computer skills (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Proficiency in keyboarding and computer operations required within the first two weeks of employment. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health policies, procedures, laws, and standards. Upholds the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Education : Specialized vocational training
• Minimum Experience : 1 year in an acute care hospital, sterile processing, or surgery department, or completion of a sterile processing / central supply technician program. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, hospital supplies, and equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Preferred Experience : 2 years recent sterile processing experience in a surgical setting
• Required Certification : CRCST or CBSPD, or CST or NCCT within 1 year of hire
