The Engineering Manager will manage the Engineering Department, study design, implement projects, and improve efficiency on processes and equipment. This position will work closely with all departments ensuring projects meet department requirements.
Responsibilities
- Designs and develops new machinery
- Coordinates manpower needs with Maintenance Manager
- Plans and schedules equipment replacement
- Works within capital expenditure budgets
- Prepares and manages drawings and schematics
- Performs equipment layout
- Analyzes equipment efficiencies
- Analyzes production requirements
- Designs and develops processes for improvements in Production
- Responsible for working within budget when given one
- Communicates with the Operations department to coordinate Engineering upgrade work in process areas
- Ensure that all equipment is functioning to the highest possible standards
- Communicates directly with QC to ensure effective participation by the Engineering department in the implementation of QC policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment with consideration of all those who may be working in the same area
- Perform any required fabrication duties when required and / or needed
- Identify problems and design solutions
- Ensure that your work environment is safe
- Coordinates fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
- Assists with the planning / implementation of plant improvements and expansions
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution to the Engineering Department
- Supervises all Engineering Department employees
- Responsible for monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Complete employee payroll time sheets
- Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Standards
- Member of the HACCP Committee
- Member of Safety Team
- And other duties as assigned

High School Diploma Required. BS in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work-related experience required
