Senior Surety Claims Counsel – IAT Insurance Group

Location & Work Schedule

Hybrid schedule from any IAT office Monday through Wednesday (unless fully remote). Remote work option available.

Responsibilities

• Interact with attorneys for claimants and owners, as well as field management staff to resolve complex claims issues and ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Draft and negotiate the necessary documents for each situation, such as Surety Takeover and / or Completion Agreements, correspondence, reports and Exposure Analyses.
• Collaborate closely with underwriters in assigned regions.
• Review and analyze work in progress schedules, costs to complete, accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
• Supervise work of outside counsel and consultants and review counsel and consultants' bills before submitting for approval.
• Recommend reserves.
• Manage litigation and salvage recovery actions on assigned matters.
• Analyze payment bond claims and make recommendations regarding payment.
• Select, develop, motivate and train staff to achieve objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate employee performance.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Compensation

Annual base salary range : $97,880 – $213,030. Total compensation includes base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(k) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more. Actual salaries vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies and geographic location.
